MISSION:

To challenge the best Canadian and American keelboat sailors in all major regattas on Lake Ontario and throughout North America.

To strive for constant improvement of sailing skills, team building skills and drive for success.

TEAM:

Our team is a balanced combination of very experienced sailors, sailors with some time on the water and people relatively new to the sport. Our doors are always open especially for young people eager to try and commit themselves to this exiting sport.

BOAT:

The J-24 racing sailboat is the most popular keelboat in Ontario and probably the most popular in the world with over 5000 boats actively racing anywhere from North and South America, Europe to Japan and Australia.

J-24 is 24 feet long, very fast, challenging and fun to sail by the crew of five. She can be towed practically anywhere behind standard size SUV.

SEASON 2006:

The 2006 sailing season has already started with plenty to do on the boat to bring her into top shape. First training is scheduled for April and the racing will be in full swing in May. Since then there are regattas practically every weekend and club racing on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Weekend regattas usually attract between 30 and 50 J-24’s and club racing around 15 boats.

The most important events are the World Qualifying series, where the top five Ontario boats at the end of the season will be eligible to participate in the World Championships in Mexico in 2007. Also this year Lake Ontario will be home to Canadian Championships in Toronto and North American Championships in Rochester. Each of these events may have up to 70 participating boats. Our team of course plans to take part in all these regattas.

SPONSORSHIP:

Like in any other sport we are always looking for sponsors, who would support our goal and help us to achieve the best results possible. We are in constant need of improving our boat and equipment, replacing sails, cover traveling expenses etc. Most of the costs are covered by the crew who also spends countless hours working on the boat. Any help, financial or in equipment will be greatly appreciated.

In return we can offer great advertising exposure on the hull and sails, which will be visible in all major sailing events. Most of these events attract hundreds of participants and thousands of spectators.
