The Fazisi, an 82 foot aluminum hull maxi yacht, was the first Soviet entry in the Whitbread Round the World Race in 1989. Vlad Murnikow was the architect of this sailboat, which was built in Poti, Georgia, and finished at the last minute, in Hamble, near Southampton, England. Fazisi, named after the river where the Argonatust found the Golden Fleece, participated with a Soviet crew under Captain Alexei Gryshenko and an American co-skipper, Skip Novak.

Afterwards, Fazisi wound up in Fairhaven, Massachusetts, in the United States. She was purchased in 1999 by members of the Joseph Conrad Yacht Club, Chicago, IL, and sailed from Fairhaven to Chicago under Captain Isidore Ryzak, where she participated in the Mackinac Races on Lake Michigan in 2000 and 2001.

Fazisi sailed back to Fairhaven and onward to the Caribbean under Bogdan Stojkowski and participated in races there. She ended up in Jolly Harbor, Antigua. In December 2005, Fazisi was donated to the Polish Yachting Association of North America. In Spring 2006, Isidore Ryzak, Commodore of Polish Yachting Association of North America, organized and contributed major financing for the preparation and refurbishing of Fazisi for her journey to Poland to participate in the Tall Ships' Races in 2007.

In April, 2006, under Captain Irek Zubko, Fazisi sailed from Antigua, to San Juan, Puerto Rico. Then, under the command of Michal Boguslawski, with a crew from White Sails Polish Sailing Club of Toronto, Ont. Canada, Fazisi sailed from San Juan, Puerto Rico through the Azores, Malmo, Sweden, Swinoujscie, Szczecin, to Gdynia, Poland. From Gdynia she sailed to Darlowo, Poland, to the Merchant Marine School.

Under the watchful eye of Captain Janusz Kedzierski, Fazisi completed the full Tall Ships Race 2007 around the Baltic Sea. The Polish Yachting Association awarded
Captain Kedzierski and the crew with the 3rd place for the "Race of the Year 2007".

In September 2008, Fazisi returned to the USA and docked at the Polish Sailing Club of New York.
